Iraq Security Forces Detain Local Al-Qaeda Leader West of Central Baghdad

Iraqi security officials detained a senior local al-Qaeda leader just west of central Baghdad, state-sponsored al-Iraqiyah television reported.

The Interior Ministry’s Rapid Response Brigade captured the man in the Abu Ghraib district, according to the report. The broadcaster identified him as Khudayir Ali Gharib and said that he served as the group’s so-called defense minister.
