French Local Authority Seeks to Block Eiffage's APRR Buyout, Tribune Says
A French local authority with shares in Societe des Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhone is seeking to block its buyout by Eiffage SA and Macquarie Group, La Tribune reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
Arnaud Montebourg, who heads the Saone-et-Loire regional council which owns 0.025 percent of APRR’s shares, has complained about the buyout to France’s market regulator, La Tribune said. The move is intended to protest highway privatization, La Tribune said.
France’s AMF financial markets authority is scheduled to decide on the buyout Sept. 7, La Tribune said.
