Mazda to Add $118 Million Engine Production Line in Hiroshima, Nikkan Says
Mazda Motor Corp. will spend 10 billion yen ($118 million) to install a production line for fuel-efficient engines at a plant in Hiroshima, where the company is headquartered, the Nikkan Kogyo newspaper said.
The line will start operations in fiscal 2011. The move is part of a plan to improve the company’s vehicle fuel economy by 30 percent by 2015, the newspaper reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
