Buccaneers Release Former Giants Running Back Derrick Ward After One Year
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released former New York Giants running back Derrick Ward after one season, the National Football League team said in a statement.
Ward, 30, rushed for 409 yards and a touchdown last year.
In 2008, Ward had a career-best 1,025 yards while splitting time in the Giants’ backfield with Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw. Ward and Jacobs became the fifth pair of teammates to both rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
