Gome Founder Huang Losses Appeal, Wife Released, Securities Times Reports

Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings Ltd. founder Huang Guangyu’s sentence was left unchanged by the Beijing Higher People’s Court on appeal, the Securities Time reported today.

Huang’s wife, Du Juan, was released after the court gave her a reprieve on her sentence, the Shenzhen-based newspaper reported.

Huang was sentenced to 14 years in prison for graft in May. Zhang Shiguo, Huang’s lawyer in the appeal, declined to comment when contacted by phone today.
