Britons Buy Record Solar Installations After Subsidy Change, FT Reports
A record 2,200 U.K. households have installed solar panels this month, the Financial Times reported, citing the energy regulator Ofgem.
That compares with 1,700 last month and 1,400 in June, the newspaper said.
The surge has been triggered by a change in subsidies for small-scale renewable energy generation, under which households can be paid a “feed-in tariff,” set above the standard rate for power, by electricity suppliers, the FT said.
