Ackermans & van Haaren, Cie. d'Entreprises, Epiq: European Equity Preview
The following companies’ shares may have unusual moves in European trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 0.6 percent to 253.76. The Stoxx 50 Index gained 0.7 percent to 2,475.69. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for nations using the euro, increased 0.6 percent to 2,660.84.
Accor SA (AC FP): Europe’s largest hotelier is selling 48 hotels to units of Credit Agricole SA (ACA FP) and Fonciere des Regions SA (FDR FP) for 367 million euros as part of a plan to dispose of some real-estate holdings. Accor shares climbed 1 percent to 23.36 euros. Credit Agricole added 1.4 percent to 10.17 euros, while Fonciere des Regions rose 0.6 percent to 71.99 euros.
Ackermans & van Haaren NV (ACKB BB), Cie. d’Entreprises CFE SA (CFEB BB): Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV, the firm co-owned by Ackermans and CFE, said it signed a contract valued at 105 million euros for dredging works related to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, according to a statement. Ackermans added 0.3 percent to 53.91 euros. CFE rose 1 percent to 37.78 euros.
BNP Paribas SA (BNP FP): France’s biggest bank, PKO Bank Polski SA and Banco Santander SA made bids for Allied Irish Banks Plc’s (ALBK ID) Polish unit, according to a person familiar with the process. BNP Paribas shares gained 1.3 percent to 51.67 euros.
Epiq NV (EPI BB): The Belgian contract maker of sensors and other electronics said first-half net income rose 54 percent to 1.29 million euros and forecast both sales and profit in the second half will be “in line” with the preceding six-month period. Epiq last traded for 1.73 euros on Aug. 20.
GDF Suez SA (GSZ FP): The world’s second-biggest utility may move after saying it’s operating its Teesside power plant in northeast England at less than full capacity as it fixes a turbine and carries out planned maintenance. The shares rose 0.2 percent to 25.02 euros.
