SABMiller May Bid $10.9 Billion for Foster's Beer Unit, Sunday Times Says

SABMiller Plc may make a 7 billion pounds ($10.9 billion) offer for Carlton & United Breweries, the beer-making unit of Foster’s Group Ltd., the Sunday Times reported, without saying where it got the information.

SABMiller may make an offer for the unit before it is listed as a separate company, the newspaper said.

Nigel Fairbrass, a London-based spokesman for SABMiller declined to comment when contacted on his mobile phone.
