Michael Kemmer, former chief executive officer of Bayerische Landesbank, may be appointed to the vacant position of managing director of Germany’s BDB banking association, Financial Times Deutschland reported, citing an unidentified person involved in the talks.
While Kemmer’s appointment is considered as “basically certain,” it may depend on the outcome of probes into the role of former management board members in BayernLB’s investment in Austrian lender Hypo Alpe-Adria Bank International AG, the newspaper said. Both Kemmer and the BDB declined to comment, according to FTD.
