Johannesburg Gas-Pipeline Fire Put Out After Six Hour Blaze, Sapa Reports

An explosion on a natural-gas pipeline in southern Johannesburg caused a fire that took emergency services six hours to extinguish, the South African Press Association reported.

The blast occurred when one of the connectors on the pipeline leaked, the news agency said, citing Percy Morokane, a spokesman for the emergency services. No one was injured in the incident.
