New York Knicks Sign Free-Agent Shooting Guard Roger Mason, 6-Year NBA Vet

Free-agent shooting guard Roger Mason Jr. agreed to a contract with the New York Knicks.

Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed in a team news release announcing the signing. It’s a one-year accord, according to the New York Times.

Mason, 29, has played six National Basketball Association seasons since being drafted in 2002 out of the University of Virginia.

He has career averages of 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in stints with the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs. Mason played the last two seasons in San Antonio, scoring a career-best 11.8 points per game in 2008-09.
