Archos, Cegedim, Dexia, ESR, Natixis, Synergie Are Active in Paris Trade

France’s CAC 40 Index rose 20.11, or 0.5 percent, to 3,784.30 at 1:27 p.m. in Paris. The SBF 120 Index also gained 0.5 percent.

The following companies’ shares were among the most active in French markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.

Archos (JXR FP) fell 8.7 percent to 3.77 euros. The maker of portable music and video players said its first-half loss narrowed to 3.2 million euros ($4.2 million) from 5.1 million euros a year earlier.

Catering International & Services SA (CTRG FP) gained 1.7 percent to 60.50 euros. The catering-services group said second- quarter revenue rose 16 percent to 47.8 million euros.

Dexia SA (DEXB BB) fell 3.3 percent to 3.84 euros. The Paris- and Brussels-based bank said second-quarter profit declined 12 percent, hurt by a loss at its Slovak operations.

ESR (ESRP FP) decreased 5.5 percent to 1.04 euros. The engineering company said first-half revenue fell to 31.5 million euros from 36.1 million euros a year earlier.

Natixis SA (KN FP) rose 3.9 percent to 4.46 euros. The investment-banking unit of France’s second-biggest bank by branches posted second-quarter net income of 522 million euros, from a year-earlier loss of 819 million euros.

Synergie SA (SDG FP) gained 2.2 percent to 19.90 euros. The temporary-employment agency said first-half revenue rose to 548.4 million euros from 429.6 million euros a year earlier.

Veolia Environnement SA (VIE FP) declined 1.8 percent to 21.31 euros. The world’s biggest water utility said a recovery in waste treatment is “limited.”
