Wallabies Pick Faingaa Twins, Beale for Tri-Nations Match in New Zealand

Australia made three personnel changes for the Aug. 7 Tri-Nations rugby Test against New Zealand, bringing the Faingaa twins and Kurtley Beale into the starting lineup.

Anthony and Saia Faingaa will start at inside center and hooker in place of Berrick Barnes and Stephen Moore, respectively. Beale takes over at full-back from Adam Ashley- Cooper, who switches to outside center to replace the injured Rob Horne.

The Faingaas and Beale were promoted after coming off the bench in last week’s 49-28 defeat to the All Blacks in Melbourne. Another loss in Christchurch in two days would extend the Wallabies’ losing streak to nine in a rivalry going back 107 years. That would match the record set between 1936 and 1947.

Barnes and Moore were named on the bench alongside winger Cameron Shepherd, who made his last Test appearance in July 2008 against France.

AUSTRALIA: Kurtley Beale, James O’Connor, Adam Ashley- Cooper, Anthony Faingaa, Drew Mitchell, Matt Giteau, Will Genia, Richard Brown, David Pocock, Rocky Elsom (captain), Nathan Sharpe, Dean Mumm, Salesi Ma’afu, Saia Faingaa, Benn Robinson.

Reserves: Stephen Moore, James Slipper, Rob Simmons, Matt Hodgson, Luke Burgess, Berrick Barnes, Cameron Shepherd.
