Citigroup Hires Peter Hall for Distressed Bank Debt Trading

Citigroup Inc. hired Peter Hall from Cantor Fitzgerald LP to trade distressed bank debt.

Hall will report to Marc Heimowitz and Rohit Bansal, who run the distressed desk at Citigroup, according to people familiar with the move, who declined to be identified because the discussions are private.

Danielle Romero-Apsilos, a Citigroup spokeswoman, confirmed the hire and said Hall starts later this month. Hall declined to be interviewed.

He joined Cantor Fitzgerald in February 2009, the people said. Hall previously worked as a distressed loan trader at Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Plc, moving over from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. after the British bank bought its North American investment banking and capital market operations in 2008.
