BR Malls, Entel, Genomma Lab, ISA, LLX, TGS: Latin America Equity Preview
The following companies may have unusual price changes in Latin American trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices reflect the previous close.
The MSCI Latin America Index rose 2.1 percent to 4,155.55. In Brazil, preferred shares usually are the most-traded class of stock.
Argentina
Transportadora de Gas del Sur SA (TGSU2 AF): The natural gas transporter reported a net profit in the first half of 52.5 million pesos, compared to a profit of 12.9 million pesos in the same period of last year, the company said in a press release. TGS, as the company is also known, rose 1 percent to 2.96 pesos.
Brazil
Sales of new cars, buses and trucks increased in Brazil to 302,407 units in July from 285,370 a year earlier, Fenabrave, the country’s dealership federation, said in a statement published on its website.
Iochpe-Maxion SA (MYPK3 BS), the autoparts company, fell 0.8 percent to 19.33 reais, while Marcopolo SA (POMO4 BS), a buses producer, fell 1.2 percent to 9.96 reais.
BR Malls Participacoes SA (BRML3 BS): The company reported second-quarter revenue of 123 million reais, according to a statement released on MarketWire. The shares fell 0.6 percent to 8.85 reais.
LLX Logistica SA (LLXL3 BS): The seaport builder and manager had its 12-month share-price estimate lowered to 9.50 reais from 9.70 reais at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to reflect potential delays at Acu Port, according to an e-mailed note to clients. LLX fell 0.6 percent to 8.85 reais.
Chile
Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones SA (ENTEL CC): Chile’s second-largest mobile telephone operator reported net profit for the second quarter of the year of 41.9 billion pesos, compared to 33.3 billion pesos in the same period of last year. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News was 37 billion pesos. Entel rose 1.8 percent to 7,584.4 pesos.
Colombia
Interconexion Electrica SA (ISA CB): The Colombian state- controlled energy distributor reported net profit of 95.8 billion pesos in second quarter of 2010, compared to 132.5 billion pesos in the same period of last year. ISA, as the company is known, fell 0.6 percent to 13,000 pesos.
Mexico
Genomma Lab Internacional SAB de CV (LABB MM): The shares of the producer of over-the-counter drugs and personal care products may rise to 61 pesos by the end of 2011, according to Banco Santander SA, which also reiterated its “buy” rating. Genomma Lab rose 2.1 percent to 44 pesos.
