Wells Fargo Hires Natalie Cohen as Senior Muni Analyst in Securities Unit

Wells Fargo & Co., with more than $1.2 trillion in assets, is adding Natalie Cohen to the research and economics department of its securities unit as a managing director and senior municipal-bond analyst.

Cohen, who started consulting firm National Municipal Research Inc., will be based in New York, Wells Fargo said today in a statement. Cohen holds a master of public administration degree from New York University and is a Hampshire College graduate, the bank said. Earlier, she was a managing director for bond insurer Financial Security Assurance, Wells Fargo said.

“Natalie’s extensive knowledge and experience in the industry will significantly enhance our service capabilities,” Diane Schumaker-Krieg, the San Francisco-based bank’s global head of research and economics, said in the statement.

Cohen has also worked for New York City’s budget office, Moody’s Investors Service, American Capital Access and Enhance Reinsurance/Asset Guaranty and is the author of thepublicpurse.com, a blog on U.S. state and local trends, the bank said.
