Liberal Democrat Support Plunges to 12% in YouGov Poll; Clegg Rating Slips
Support for the U.K. Liberal Democrat party has fallen by half since the election, according to a YouGov Plc poll for the Sunday Times newspaper.
Support for the party dropped to 12 percent from 24 percent, the lowest since October 2007, the paper said. A measure of popularity for the party’s leader, Nick Clegg, fell to 8 points from 72 points in April 2010.
Support for the ruling Conservative party rose to 42 percent from 37 percent, and Labour increased to 38 percent from 30 percent. YouGov interviewed 1,885 voters from July 29-30.
