Lukoil, Norilsk, Razgulay, Rosneft May Move Today: Russian Equity Preview
The following companies may have unusual price changes in Russian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.
Russia’s ruble-based Micex Index added 1.7 percent to 1,418.35 in Moscow.
OAO Lukoil (LKOH RX): Lukoil, Russia’s second-largest oil producer, may have its long-term corporate credit rating cut one level to junk from BBB- should the company decide to buy more than 7.6 percent of its own shares from ConocoPhillips, Standard & Poor’s Rating Services said. Lukoil rose 0.6 percent to 1,759.79 rubles.
OAO GMK Norilsk Nickel (GMKN RX): Copper rose to a 12-week high on speculation that the global economy will be resilient and metal demand will improve. Russia’s largest mining company added 1.8 percent to 5,080.13 rubles.
OAO Razgulay (GRAZ RX): Wheat rose to a 13-month high, while corn and soybean extended gains, as hot, dry weather damaged crops from Russian to France, boosting demand for supplies from the U.S. The Russian grain and sugar producer added 1.2 percent 44.232 rubles.
OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX): Crude oil rose for the first time in a week as the dollar weakened against the euro, boosting appeal of commodities as an alternative investment. Shares rose 1.6 percent to 205.26 rubles.
