China May Allow Insurers to Invest in Index Futures, Securities Times Says

China may allow insurance companies to invest in stock index futures, the Securities Times reported today, citing an unidentified insurance company.

Insurers would be allowed to invest in index futures to hedge against risks and not for speculation, the Shenzhen-based newspaper reported.
