Citycon, Kesko, PGS, Nokia, Petroleum Geo, Vestas: Nordic Stock Preview
The following companies may have unusual price changes in Nordic trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.
The Stoxx Nordic 30 Index, a benchmark measure for the region, rose 2.5 percent to 6,661.27, a third day of gains and the highest level since June 22.
Citycon Oyj (CTY1S FH): The Finnish real-estate company reported second-quarter sales of 48.6 million euros ($61.8 million) compared with 49.5 million euros a year earlier. The shares rose 1.5 percent to 2.65 euros.
Kesko Oyj (KESBV FH): Finland’s largest retailer said June sales rose 8.1 percent to 800.2 million euros. The shares increased 1.1 percent to 26.86 euros.
Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (PGS NO): The world’s third- biggest surveyor of oil and natural-gas fields was upgraded to “buy” from “reduce” at Nomura Holdings Inc. The shares rose 2.1 percent to 58.85 kroner.
Nokia Oyj (NOK1V FH): The world’s biggest phone maker’s network joint venture, Nokia Siemens Networks, is in negotiations to purchase Motorola Inc.’s telecommunications- equipment business, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unidentified people familiar with the situation. Nokia shares rose 1.4 percent to 6.72 euros.
Vestas Wind Systems A/S (VWS DC): The world’s biggest maker of wind turbines plans to hire 850 more workers over the next year and a half at its three Colorado plants after having hired 1,000 so far, the Coloradoan reported. It also won an order for 21 turbines of its V90-3.0 megawatt model, or a total of 63 megawatts, for a project in Sweden. The shares increased 0.8 percent to 264.6 kroner.
