The Stoxx Europe 600 Index gained 1.9 percent to 255.99. The Stoxx 50 Index rose 1.8 percent to 2,486.69. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for nations using the euro, advanced 1.9 percent to 2,737.59.
BayWa AG (BYW6 GY): The German farm-products and building- materials company agreed to acquire a 94.5 percent stake in Schradenbiogas GmbH & Co. KG from Hideal Partners for about 6 million euros. The stock dropped 1.4 percent to 28.24 euros.
Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana SA (IBLA SM): Spain’s biggest airline said passenger traffic rose 2.2 percent in June from a year earlier. The load factor, or proportion of seats filled, increased to 85.2 percent from 83 percent. The shares advanced 1.3 percent to 2.43 euros.
Royal Bank Scotland Group Plc (RBS LN): Britain’s biggest government-owned bank was raised to “market perform” from “underperform” at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods by equity analyst Mark Phin. The shares climbed 3.9 percent to 46.4 pence.
