The following companies may have unusual price changes in Nordic trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.
The Stoxx Nordic 30 Index, the benchmark measure for the region, dropped 197.44, or 3.1 percent, to 6,125.93. The OMX Stockholm 30 Index lost 2.4 percent while Norway’s OBX Index fell 2.9 percent. The Copenhagen 20 Index declined 2.4 percent, while the Helsinki 25 Index decreased 2 percent.
Investor AB (INVEB SS): The Wallenberg family’s publicly traded holding company said it acquired healthcare company Aleris Holding AB from the EQT III fund for an enterprise value of 4.4 billion kronor ($572 million). Investor shares slipped 1.6 percent to 125 kronor.
Nordea Bank AB (NDA SS): The Swedish lender is among bidders for Bank Zachodni WBK SA, the Polish bank that Allied Irish Banks Plc is selling, Rp.pl, the website of Poland’s Rzeczpospolita newspaper, reported today, without saying where it got the information. Shares of Nordea, the Nordic region’s largest bank, declined 0.6 percent to 64.5 kronor.
Norse Energy Corp. ASA (NEC NO): The Norwegian oil and gas explorer and producer operating in the U.S. said it sold 65 million shares in a private placement, raising gross proceeds of 110.5 million kroner ($17 million). Norse Energy shares slumped 13 percent to 2.08 kroner.
