Nordic Stocks: Chr. Hansen Holding, Diamyd Medical, Stonesoft

The Stoxx Nordic 30 Index, the benchmark measure for the region, fell 195.07, or 3.1 percent, to 6,128.3 at 5:33 p.m. in Stockholm.

The OMX Stockholm 30 Index (OMX) decreased 2.4 percent and Norway’s OBX Index fell 2.9 percent. The Copenhagen 20 Index (KFX) lost 2.4 percent, while the Helsinki 25 Index (HEX25) fell 2 percent.

The following companies’ shares were among the most active in Nordic markets today. Symbols are in parentheses.

Chr. Hansen Holding A/S (CHR) , which held an initial public offering in June, fell 3.5 percent to 98 kroner, erasing yesterday’s 2.5 percent increase. The Danish maker of food ingredients reported a net loss of 5.2 million euros ($6.4 million) in its third quarter, hurt by higher taxes as the company failed to deduct IPO costs.

Diamyd Medical AB (DIAMB) fell 4.6 percent to 115 kronor, erasing yesterday’s 2.1 percent gain. The developer of diabetes treatments reported a widening of its third-quarter pretax loss of 30.9 million kronor ($4 million) from 26.2 million kronor a year earlier.

Stonesoft Oyj (SFT1V) (SFT1V FH) plummeted 21 percent to 57 euro cents, the biggest drop since 2004. The Finnish maker of anti- virus software said second-quarter sales will fall 15 percent and that it will make an operating loss. It blamed its poor forecast for the quarter on customers’ postponed orders.
