Ex-Qwest Chief Nacchio Awaits Ruling Today on Bid to Cut Six-Year Sentence

A federal judge weighing a bid by Qwest Communications International Inc.’s former chief Joseph Nacchio to cut his six-year sentence said 63 months to 78 months in prison is possible.

U .S. District Judge Marcia Krieger said today’s hearing in Denver will resume later, when she will hear further arguments. Krieger said she plans to make a ruling on Nacchio’s bid before the end of the day.
