Man Dies From Plague in Gansu Province After Eating Marmot, Xinhua Says

A 41-year-old man died of endemic rural plague in northern China’s Gansu province after eating a marmot he caught at a construction site, the provincial government said.

The town in Jiuquan city was quarantined, according to a statement on the Gansu government’s website yesterday.
