Storm Lashes North Coast of New South Wales, Destroying Homes, ABC Says

A number of homes were destroyed and several people injured after a storm lashed the north coast of New South Wales state, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported on its website.

The storm downed powerlines and overturned trailers, the report said. A low pressure system is now moving south, dumping large amounts of rain, the report said.

A severe weather warning has been issued by the state’s emergency service. Flash flooding is possible on the mid-north coast, the emergency service said.
