Etisalat of U.A.E. to Enter Sudan's Mobile-Phone Market, Al Bayan Reports

Emirates Telecommunications Corp, the United Arab Emirates’ biggest phone company, plans to soon enter Sudan’s mobile-phone market, Al Bayan reported, citing Jamal al- Jarwan, chief executive officer for international investment.

The company, known as Etisalat, is waiting for a response from the Sudanese government in the next few days, the newspaper said.

Separately, Etisalat’s plans to acquire a stake in the Moroccan phone company Meditelecom have stalled, Al Bayan reported.
