The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group and Videocon Industries Ltd. are among companies planning to bid for sponsoring India’s cricket team, the Economic Times reported, citing people it didn’t identify.
Hero Honda Motors Ltd., Monnet Ispat & Energy Ltd. and an unidentified telecommunications company are also among the bidders, the newspaper said. The sponsorship is likely to cost at least 3.75 billion rupees, it said. Sahara Group, whose rights expire in June, is evaluating bidding again, a company spokesman said, according to the newspaper.
The winner may be announced on May 31, the Times said.
