Chinese Stocks in the U.S.: China Biologic, Ctrip.com, Home Inns& Hotels

The Bank of New York Mellon China ADR Index, which tracks American depositary receipts, rose 1.2 percent to 381.85. The American Stock Exchange China Index gained 1.3 percent to 202.77. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.3 percent to 2,655.714.

The following companies were among the most active Chinese shares in New York trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. New York time.

China Biologic Products Inc. (CBPO US) gained 14 percent to $13.95, the highest price since November 2007. The biopharmaceutical firm said local regulators have approved its plan to build two plasma stations in Shandong Province.

Ctrip.com (CTRP US) climbed 9.4 percent to $39.99. China’s biggest online-ticketing agent yesterday reported first-quarter revenue increased 46 percent to $86 million from a year earlier.

Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc. (HMIN US), China’s biggest budget hotel operator, gained 7.6 percent to $37.08. First-quarter earnings of 1.08 yuan (16 cents) a share beat the median forecast of 0.50 yuan in a Bloomberg survey of three analysts.
