Keefe, Bruyette Said to Hire Morgan Stanley's Rehn for Banking Research
Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc. hired analyst Ronny Rehn to head its equity research team for Nordic, eastern Europe and Italian banks in London, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Rehn, 30, resigned May 4 after more than five years at Morgan Stanley and will start his new job at KBW on Aug. 23, said the people, who asked not be identified because the appointment hasn’t been made public.
At Morgan Stanley, Rehn covered European banks including UniCredit SpA, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, Commerzbank AG, Deutsche Postbank AG and Erste Group Bank AG.
Before joining Morgan Stanley, Rehn worked as an analyst for UBS AG. Rehn, a native of Dresden, has a degree in banking and finance from the University of Dresden.
An executive for KBW in London wasn’t immediately available for comment. Sebastian Howell, a spokesman for Morgan Stanley in London, said the bank would replace Rehn because it will continue to cover Italian banks.
