BASF Board Will Decide on CEO Succession in July, FT Deutschland Reports

BASF SE’s supervisory board will decide on a successor to Chief Executive Officer Juergen Hambrecht in July, the Financial Times Deutschland reported, citing chairman Eggert Voscherau.

The most likely candidates to succeed Hambrecht are Chief Financial Officer Kurt Bock and the chemical company’s Asia chief, Martin Brudermueller, the newspaper said. The CEO is set to step down after the company’s general shareholders assembly in May next year.

BASF’s board will be joined by former Deutsche Bahn AG personnel chief Margret Suckale when Hambrecht retires, according to the report.
