Coalition Partner CSU Favors Nuclear Power Over Coal, FT Deutschland Says
Germany’s Christian Social Union wants the country to reduce its use of coal in favor of nuclear power to help fight climate change, Financial Times Deutschland reported.
The ruling coalition -- which includes the CSU, its sister party the Christian Democrats and the Free Democratic Party -- will set out a long-term plan for Germany’s energy mix this summer, the newspaper said, citing the CSU’s Hans-Peter Friedrich.
