Cia. Energetica de Sao Paulo, Brazil’s third-largest electricity-generation utility, said the government will decide this year if it can renew rights to operate four hydropower dams that expire by 2015.
The national energy council canceled a meeting to discuss the contracts in April and plans to resolve the issue later this year, Cesp Chief Executive Officer Guilherme Cirne de Toledo and Chief Financial Officer Vicente Okazaki said on a conference call today.
