The company's January audience share reached 19 percent, its lowest January level since 2002 and matching its share in December, according to audience tracker Barlovento Comunicacion. Antena 3 de Television SA had 16.9 percent, behind state-owned channel TVE 1, which stood at 17 percent. Cuatro rose to a record 8.3 percent and La Sexta had 4.9 percent, according to Barlovento.
Giuseppe Tringali, Telecinco's chief executive officer for advertising, said in November the broadcaster aims to maintain an audience share of about 20 percent this year.
