Domtar Corp. Has 1st-Quarter Profit of $49 Million After Merger

Domtar Corp. (UFS), North America's largest producer of office paper, said it had a first-quarter profit of $49 million, or 14 cents a share.

The quarterly results were the first for the company, formed from the March merger of Domtar Inc. of Montreal and fine-paper assets of Federal Way, Washington-based Weyerhaeuser Co. (WY)

Shares of Domtar Corp. (UFS) rose 18 cents to $10.17 today in New York Stock Exchange composite trading.
