Service Corp. International (SCI), the largest U.S. funeral home and cemetery owner, named George Owens to the new position of managing director of marketing for its Dignity Memorial brand.
Owens was employed for 12 years by J.D. Power and Associates, where he managed the Initial Quality Survey, the industry standard for measuring vehicle quality. He helped design the company's customer satisfaction survey and oversaw the J.D. Power and Associates Certified Retailer and Certified Dealer programs, Houston-based Service Corp. said today in a statement.
At Service Corp., Owens will be responsible for spreading the Dignity Memorial brand across North America. As of Dec. 31, the company owned and operated more than 1,600 funeral homes and 400 cemeteries in 45 states and eight Canadian provinces.
Shares of Service Corp. fell 17 cents to $11.87 as of 4:01 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading.
