Housing Bust

The housing bust has ravaged the city. The median home price in Stockton, which tripled from 1998 to 2005, has fallen below the pre-boom numbers in roughly the same amount of time. In the first half of 2012, Stockton had the highest foreclosure rate of any city in the country, with 1 in 140 being foreclosed in January 2012, according to online foreclosure marketplace RealtyTrac.
