Piotroski's Best: VF Corp.

Business: International apparel company

Piotroski Score: 9

VF's (VFC) net income is steadily rising, up from $458 million in fiscal 2009 to $571 million in fiscal 2010. Analysts surveyed by Bloomberg say the company is on track to generate $970 million in net income in 2011. Operating cash flow of $1 billion in 2010 also exceeded net income -- another good sign, according to Piotroski.

Outlook for the Company:

Bull Case: Bloomberg Industries says that gross domestic product is expected to rise in 2012-2013 and that this bodes well for the retail apparel sector.

Bear Case: If consumer confidence weakens, retail sales could, too, according to Bloomberg Industries analysis.
