Calgary Stampede. Calgary/July 6-15

About a million spectators show up at the Calgary Stampede in Alberta, which has one of the world's largest rodeos. General admission is C$16 (U.S. $15.72) for most people (aged 13 to 64). Tickets to the rodeo range from C$20 to C$250. There is a parade, stage shows, exhibits, concerts, nightly chuck wagon racing (C$35 to C$110) and this year, an equine show that attempts to explain the first stampede through the eyes of three live horses. Rodeo winners in contests for riding bareback, saddle bronc or lady's barrel get prizes of $100,000.
