Here's a hoosegow criminals would long for. The Old Jail, a historical building of 1880 in the Mohair country of the Karoo, ceased to be a prison in 1950. Today, after changing hands many times and sitting empty for 12 years, it's a beautiful Victorian guesthouse with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Much has been kept intact -- from old fittings, windows, locks and doors -- but the cells have been converted to very comfortable rooms.
