The <a href="http://www.sec.gov/litigation/litreleases/2010/lr21726.htm">SEC alleged</a> that Pride International, an offshore drilling company in Houston, paid $2 million in bribes to maintain contracts in such countries as Congo, Libya, and Saudi Arabia. Pride International paid <a href="http://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/2010/November/10-crm-1251.html">$32.6 million to the Justice Dept.</a> as part of a deferred-prosecution agreement in the case.</p>
