Housing Double Dip

When: May 31
What: Housing dragged the U.S. economy down further. The S&P/Case-Shiller Index confirmed a double dip in home prices, intensifying concerns about when the market would hit bottom and whether the U.S. economy would also see a double dip. The report showed that prices in 20 U.S. cities dropped in March to their lowest level since 2003 and the index was down 3.6 percent year on year. Coupled with this drop was a weakening of consumer confidence.
