Top 10 Towns

While the stereotype is for aging Americans to flock to Florida, Bloomberg's ranking of towns whose residents have the highest retirement incomes turned up communities that range from Camino Tassajara, California, to Harbor Hills, New York. Bloomberg's list ranks 37 towns by average retirement income, according to Census data; we feature the top 10. (Social Security payments weren't included.) Towns had to have residents with average retirement income of at least $75,000, median home values of at least $500,000 and more than 100 residents. Many of these havens aren't primarily retirement communities -- just beautiful, well-situated, peaceful and private spots.
