Killer Maternal Instincts

To celebrate Mother's Day, U.S. consumers will shell out more than $16 billion on the likes of brunch, flowers, jewelry and gift certificates, according to the National Retail Federation. To really appreciate our mothers, we may also want to watch a few select movies. Think you have family drama? At least your mom isn't a serial killer. Wish your mother were more positive? She'll seem like a cheerleader in the wake of seeing "Precious." After spending a few high-drama hours trolling the pantheon of movie mothers, a relaxing day spent with the real thing may be just what you need, come May 13.
