Cheri Amour, Los Angeles, California

This was the last home of Jim Morrison of The Doors. Built around 1932, it was the abode of Morrison and his girlfriend Pamela Courson from 1970 to 1971. For those in the know, this was also where his famous Rolling Stone interview took place in the wake of his ... exhibitionist tendencies. Every room has posters of him, so you feel his presence, and the owners have tried to keep things as original as possible -- from old doors to cupboards. (Morrison moved to Paris in 1971, where he died of heart failure while in the bathtub.) The '70s decor of his home is a reminder of the days of "peace and love."

Price: $200 per night. Sleeps 8.
