Most Politically Controversial Beach

Rarely is sunbathing a subject of political debate. That's not the case in Egypt, where the beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh is popular with foreigners and hated by ultraconservatives. Tourism has declined at Sharm el-Sheikh, located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, because of worries that Islamists, who control Egypt's new parliament, want to ban alcohol, mixed-gender beaches, gambling and tiny bathing suits.
