State revenues increased by nearly 4 percent over the same period in 2011, Kentucky's Office of State Budget Director reported.Retirees like the fact that the state exempts up to $41,110 of income from most pensions. And those who are delinquent on their taxes may be happy if the Kentucky legislature goes ahead with a tax amnesty program it is considering for next year.

* Spouse and lineal-descendant and sibling transfer is tax-free; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and child in-law transfer is taxed at 4 percent to 16 percent; all other transfers taxed at 6 percent to 16 percent.
