Kate Winslet

The sixth time was the charm for Kate Winslet. First nominated in 1996 for her acting in "Sense and Sensibility," she was nominated and lost out on the Oscar five times, including for roles in 1997's "Titanic" (left) and 2004's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." In 2009, she received her sixth nomination, for her role in "The Reader," and won her first Oscar.
