Just Mean: 'Manchurian Candidate'

If you know Angela Lansbury only from her act on Broadway or in the TV show "Murder She Wrote," you'll be surprised by the cold, calculating way she portrays Eleanor Iselin in the critically acclaimed film, "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962). Iselin, who is a communist agent, plans to elevate her dim-witted husband from the U.S. Senate to the presidency. Her tool is her very own son, a Korean War veteran who has been brainwashed to become an assassin.
