The Monitor will not work with popup blockers; you must disable any popup blockers to use the Monitor.

The Market Monitor may not work with some virus scanners. You may need to turn off your virus scanner in order for the monitor work correctly.

If you are accessing the market monitor through a proxy server, it will need to be configured to allow a connection from https://software.bloomberg.com port 80.

The Monitor requires Sun's Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.3 or higher. The monitor will not work with Microsoft VM.

Sun's latest JRE is available from: http://java.com/en/download

Note to Java 1.6 users: the Market Monitor did not work on some earlier versions of Java 1.6. Please un-install/re-install Java 1.6. Sun's latest JRE is available from http://java.com/en/download

The Monitor requires version 4.0 or higher of Netscape's Navigator or Microsoft's Internet Explorer. For optimal performance, use your browser's latest (not Pre-Release or Beta) version available from the following links:

Macintosh users: the Monitor's Java requirements make it incompatible with systems older than 9.0. Mac OS X users may need to run the Monitor in the Classic (OS 9 with Java 1.3) Environment or upgrade their OS and Java to more current versions.

Also, for the Monitor to work properly, the installed Java must be enabled in your browser:

Netscape 4 - 7
1) In the "Edit" menu at the top of your browser, click on "Preferences."
2) Click on "Advanced".
3) Check the "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript" check boxes.
4) Click on "OK."
5) Close and restart your browser, and then relaunch the Monitor.

Netscape 8 and higher
1) In the "Tools" menu at the top of your browser, click on "Options."
2) Click on "Site Controls" in "Security and Privacy".
3) Check the "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript" check boxes.
4) Click on "OK."
5) Close and restart your browser, and then relaunch the Monitor.

Explorer
1) In the "Tools" menu at the top of your browser, click on "Internet Options."
2) Click on the "Advanced" tab.
3) Scroll down until you see a section labeled Java (Sun).
    a. If you don't have this section, you need to download Sun's JRE. Sun's latest JRE is available from
    http://java.com/en/download
4) Underneath the Java (Sun) should be checkbox with the line "Use JRE x.x for <applet> (requires restart)".
    Please check this box.
    a. Note - the JRE version number must be 1.3 or higher. If it is not, you need to download Sun's latest JRE
    which is available from http://java.com/en/download
5)Click on "OK"
6)Close and restart your browser, and then re-launch the Monitor.
